The Gambler: A 'struggle-for-credit-&-survival' video by singer songwriter Nils Wieland

This song came to me at the beginning of the credit crisis, it litterally sort of 'happened' to me. Along the way people started telling me about the relevance of the lyrics seen within the context of the economic situation much of the world has gotten into in recent years, which might all be true but I still feel that the theme of the song is more universal than time bound.
After I started working on the arrangment with my band, ('The Legendary Last Ones') the picture painted in the lyrics, through time, emerged into the video that I worked on with all the people mentioned in the credit titles without whose help it would have been impossible to find its present form.
The end result, finished in summer 2012, because of the use of a sepia / black & white image concept, became more something of a 'film-noir-1950's short movie than your everyday kind of rock video. Working on it was a great adventure but a considerable struggle as well and took more than just many separate film, editing and evaluation sessions.
Getting the music down on tape the way I envisioned it was quite a job as well but thanks to the band, Justus Dolleman, Guus Janssen & Rick Hoekman, it all worked out in the end. As far as I'm concerned it was definitely worth while going through the trouble.
Again, thanks to everybody for helping me out to get it all done the way I wanted it!
